Dandelions WA donation to support students with school supplies

In mid 2023 the Boutique Philanthropic Fund committee members met with several WA organisations in need of support both monetary & time related.  It was important to us that the organisation we chose to support for the 2024 calendar year aligned with our 4 giving themes:

  • Financial Literacy
  • Community
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • The Next Generation

After meeting with Vicky & the team from Dandelions WA, it was clear to us that they easily met the brief.

During the year we have been involved in their backpack packing days, delivering backpacks to the schools and running a drive at the office to collect donations for their backpacks and toiletry bags.  We will be running the drive again from November.

Just this last week Dr. Tony Buti MLA, Minister for Education was at the Dandelions WA Kindness Kubby for the announcement of $500,000 in State Government support for their ongoing “Back to School” campaign.

In the past four years Dandelions WA have distributed over 17,000 school backpacks to kids in need throughout WA.  For 2025, the aim is to provide 15,000 backpacks for kids across the State – helping to ensure no kid goes to school in need.  Dandelions WA have now been given a REAL opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Western Australian kids that are needing a helping hand.

We are so proud to support an organisation like Dandelions WA doing such wonderful things for the community & look forward to finishing out the year with a donation from our fund and our time.
